Tour Beijing


Beijing is an integrated society of ancient customs and modern luxuries. It is rich in culture and yet continues to embrace the ways of the future. Those who have the opportunity to visit this majestic city leave with a greater appreciation for this nation. It is a world-famous city that invites all to explore its many ancient sites and encourages its guests to feel at home.

The city of Beijing is filled with huge skyscrapers. Although they dominate the skyline, it’s the ancient ruins, temples and historic places that make it fascinating. Also, considering that this city is a major metropolis, it doesn’t have a defined downtown. The heart of the city isn’t based on shopping malls or business centers, but with places that have historic and religious importance. One of these places is Tian'anmen Square, Gate of Heavenly Peace. It’s the front gate of the Forbidden City and led to the supreme power in imperial times. Within the square are the Monument to the People’s Heroes and the Memorial Hall of Chariman. The Forbidden City was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Now known as the Palace Museum, it is one of the most popular tourist attractions worldwide.


Enjoy a walk through the Summer Palace, a beautiful display of classic Chinese garden design and creativity. Or you could visit the Temple of Heaven, whose image graces numerous postcards because it’s so picturesque. Explore a portion of the Great Wall as it zigzags across a portion of this countryside.

Once you make your way outside of the city you’ll come across Ming Tombs. Here you’ll find the mausoleums of 13 emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Because of its long history and stunning architecture, the site has a high cultural and historic value.

Beijing offers you more than just a few simple sightseeing tours. The city is filled with history and as you begin to explore, you’ll come to appreciate all of its amazing attributes.

As you all know The 2008 Summer Olympic Games (Games of the XXIX Olympiad) took place in Beijing, China, from August 8 to August 24, 2008. The United states won the medal count with 110 medals(36 Gold, 28 Silver, and 36 bronze). The home country,China, won the most gold medals with 51.

King Wu was the first to declare Beijing the capital city in 1057 BC. Subsequently, the city has gone by the names of Ji, Zhongdu, Dadu, and finally Beijing when the Ming Dynasty Emperor ChengZu chose the name in 1421. Before 1949, Beijing was known as Peking by the Western world. After 1949, the city's name returned to Beijing, as it is known today. Since the early 1980s when China initiated economic and market reforms under the late Deng Xiaoping, Beijing has become a truly modern, international city.

Beijing City is an independently administered municipal district. She is situated in the northeastern part of China at an elevation of 43.5m above sea level. The climate in Beijing is of the continental type, with cold and dry winters and hot summers. January is the coldest month (-4 Celsius), while July the warmest (26 Celsius).

Beijing has a whole area of 16808 sq km (about 6500 sq mi), stretching 160 kilometres from east to west and over 180 kilometres north to south. 38% of it is flat land and 62% mountains. She has 16 districts and 2 counties with Dongcheng, Xicheng, Xuanwu, Chongwen, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai and Shijingshan in or close to the Beijing city proper and Fangshan, Mengtougou, Changping, Tongxian, Shunyi, Daxing, Huairou, Miyun, Pinggu and Yianqing in the outer suburbs. Population in Beijing is about 17 million.
